Platform actions require the applicable plan, connected adapter and permissions. Order writes also require supported identity verification and confirmation. New Shopify connections are coming soon; custom stores do not inherit native cart actions from API ingestion. Check platform action limits.

What it does

An AI sales agent is a shopping assistant that sells. It understands what the shopper is looking for, finds matching products in your catalog, explains the differences, and helps the shopper buy, all inside the chat on your store.

Zubby is instructed to ground store facts in your catalog, policies and knowledge documents. Managed connectors sync supported data; custom-store freshness depends on your latest API push. Review sources and test answers because grounding controls do not guarantee an error-free reply.

Capabilities

What you get

Product search and recommendations

Finds products from natural questions, compares options side by side, suggests bundles, cross-sells and alternatives, and recommends a size with a fit-confidence note.

Add to cart and checkout

Adds the chosen variant to the cart after checking it is in stock, or builds a one-tap checkout link with an approved discount applied.

Order help

Shares order status with verified shoppers, starts a return or exchange request for your team to approve, and rebuilds a past order for a quick reorder.

Answers from real reviews

With the Reviews module (Growth), the agent can share a product’s average rating and review count, the themes buyers praise or complain about, and two or three short quotes.

Subscription help for ReCharge stores

Signed-in shoppers can ask what they are subscribed to and when the next order is charged. Skip, reschedule, pause and cancel are available only if you turn them on, and each change is confirmed first.

Your voice and your rules

Set the brand voice, add rules and locked facts, decide which offers the agent may use, and choose when conversations go to a person.

How to get started

  1. Connect your store

Install the WooCommerce plugin, or send your catalog through the REST API on Pro or above. New Shopify connections are coming soon; existing connections retain their supported setup.

  2. Teach and test

Add your shipping, returns and sizing documents, set your brand voice, then ask the questions your customers ask most and refine the answers.

  3. Go live and review

Turn on the chat widget, read real conversations in the inbox, and adjust rules and knowledge as you learn.

Good to know

  • Answers are only as current as your catalog and knowledge base, so keep policies and product data up to date.
  • Discounts come only from the offer rules you set; the margin guard checks known product costs. When costs are missing, an offer cap limits the discount but cannot guarantee profitability; add costs or block offers for those products.
  • Order changes that move money stay off until you enable them in Settings.
  • Like any AI, the agent can make mistakes. Review conversations regularly and add a rule or knowledge entry when an answer needs correcting.
How we measure results

Frequently asked questions

What can the agent do for shoppers?

It searches and compares products, recommends sizes and bundles, checks stock and shipping, explains your policies, requests cart actions through a compatible adapter or uses an eligible product or checkout link, and answers order-status questions for signed-in or verified shoppers.

Where do its answers come from?

From your synced catalog, your knowledge base (shipping, returns, sizing and FAQ documents), your store policies and, with the Reviews module, your product reviews. It is instructed to use those sources for prices and stock, and offers come from the discount rules you approve. AI can still make mistakes, so test answers and review conversations.

Can it change or cancel orders?

Shopify cancel, reduce/remove-item edits, and full refunds are opt-in and require verified order ownership, eligibility, and explicit confirmation of a preview. WooCommerce routes those three requests to tickets. Shipping-address changes are separately on by default on Shopify and through the WooCommerce plugin, with identity and confirmation checks. Custom-store writes fall back to a human ticket.

What happens when it cannot help?

It hands the conversation to your team in the Zubby inbox, or opens a Zendesk or Gorgias ticket with the transcript and order context on Growth and above.

Which plan do I need?

The AI sales agent is included in every plan, starting with Growth at $49 per month with 300 AI conversations. Review-grounded answers need the Reviews module, which is included from Growth.
